Convert MXF to WMV for Sony Vegas, MXF to Sony Vegas Converter

I am producing a documentary with Panasonic P2 on a 10 year reunion of college alumni. And I took that opportunity to film interviews with each of the members. We had a great time together and the film is recorded successfully. It's a fun project, and if turns out good, I may submit it to a film festival, but I'm not holding my breath.

However, things became to bother me when I try to edit these MXF footages in Sony Vegas. Yes, I can't get .MXF files loaded into Vegas. I was stuck right here, one more step from completing my film. I know I probably need to find a MXF converter, and there are half a dozen of choices, for example, MXF converter from Ilifesoft, iorgsoft and pavtube etc. I tried all of them one by one and ended up with this Video Converter present by Aunsoft. Honestly speaking, all of these programs are quite identical in appearance and you may find many of them even have the similar functions. So it'll need some insight to tell the best for your choice. Based on my personal experience, Aunsoft Video Converter is hands down better than its competitive applications of this kind, especially for its HD video output quality, not to mention its excellent MXF joining ability just in a click!

So I decide to share with you guys my recommendation to this MXF Converter by pushing these fingers to write this review. Tips: if you are Mac users, you can also find their Mac version of Video Converter in their official website. Now, let me show you how to convert Panasonic P2 MXF to Sony Vegas step by step.

1. Download a free version of Aunsoft MXF Converter, launch the app and load MXF files into the program. You can simply drag and drop files into the converter or click "Add" to browse for your MXF files. This is how the program looks like.

2. Choose output format for Sony Vegas. If you look for a HD output, you can follow "Format" > "HD Video" and choose the HD format you prefer. Have a try with H.264 HD Video (*.mp4), and you will be impressed by its output quality. In my case, I choose WMV format from Common Video section in "Format", as my footage is quite large (over 10 GB), I can't afford to edit larger file in Vegas. And actually I'm quite satisfied with converted file. The WMV file is imported swimming into Sony Vegas.

3. Join P2 MXF files and convert. Before you start conversion, allow me to introduce this great function available in this converting tool. The function of joining/merging multiple MXF files together into one single file. It's indeed very important to me, as I have plenty of MXF clips that needed to be combined to edit in Vegas. I didn't expect that before I tried this product and I so love the function. If you want to join your imported files together, just make sure the "Merge into one file" checkbox is ticked (next to Settings button). After that, you can start converting now.

Convertir Panasonic HDC-HS250 MTS à H.264 MOV pour iMovie

I have AVCHD videos from a Panasonic HDC-HS250 in 1080i with 30fps as source footage, and would like to edit in iMovie for future sharing with my relatives and friends at home, or upload for web sharing. However, I could not import the .mts videos to iMovie.

I googled and find Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac a good solution with fast conversion from Panasonic MTS to MOV for iMovie. The most important feature of the Mac MTS to MOV converter is the deinterlacing function. I can keep original high definition file and perform perfect playback on iMac without interlacing artifacts.

If you have AVCHD camcorders like Panasonic HDC-TM700, HDC-TM350, Sony HDR-CX110, HDR-SR5, Canon HF S200 and face problem editing the HD videos in iMovie or FCP, just keep reading and you will find the easy steps for converting MTS/M2TS to MOV.

It is quick easy to convert MTS to H.264 MOV for editing with iMovie on Mac Snow Leopard. Soon after transferring .mts files from Panasonic HDC-HS250 to Apple hard drive, just run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the Mac Panasonic MTS converter, and click the "Add" button to load .mts videos. Then click the "Format" option and move mouse cursor to Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas > MOV (AVC) (*.mov). The last step for conversion is to click the start button under the preview window. The Panasonic HDC-HS250 MTS converter will transcode MTS to MOV with H.264 as video codec for editing on iMac.

PS:
The Mac Panasonic MTS converter will deinterlace 1080i videos by default. If you want to join MTS files, just click the checkbox for "Merge into one file" before starting conversion, and the video clips will be combined with one single file as output. The output H.264 MOV videos could also be imported to Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer for editing, to QuickTime Player for playback on iMac or MacBook Pro.
